Eltron Card Printer Products Adopts TrueColours® Certified Media for Entire Card Printer Line |

CAMARILLO, Calif., January 15, 2001 — Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), the worldwide leader in bar code and plastic card printers, announced it has certified all TrueColours® ribbon products for use with its Eltron brand plastic card printers.
"Customers told us that the two things they wanted most from a printer ribbon were true-to-life color and consistency of color reproduction," said Holly Sacks, vice president of marketing for Zebra Technologies' card printer business unit. "As a result of extensive evaluation in our labs, we determined TrueColours® ribbons met every one of our rigorous standards. It is clearly the best media we have ever tested.
With TrueColours® certified media, we can assure our customers of consistent quality and exceptional color reproduction on every card they print."
TrueColours® ribbons are available in twelve multi-panel dye configurations for printing full-spectrum color. Eighteen monochrome resin color ribbon configurations are also available for card applications that require printing a single color. TrueColour monochrome resin ribbons are available in red, yellow, blue, green, black, white, metallic silver, metallic gold and scratch-off gray. All resin ribbons have a unique chemical formulation specifically for use with both dye sublimation and thermal transfer printing technologies. When used with graphics quality PVC and Composite plastic cards TrueColour resin ribbons produce smooth continuous Átones.
All TrueColours® ribbons are manufactured to exacting standards. Rigid quality control ensures all TrueColours® ribbons provide consistent, high-quality color reproduction.
All TrueColours® resin and dye transfer ribbons feature GlidePath® back-coating, which allows the ribbon to pass smoothly over the card printer's printhead to minimize wear and extend printhead life.
Every TrueColours® ribbon comes spooled on a patented core spindle with attached take-up core for easy installation and replacement.
In addition, TrueColours® ribbons are individually sealed in airtight pouches to prevent static-cling dust contamination and extend shelf life. In addition to Eltron printers, TrueColours® ribbons are also certified for use with a wide variety of other plastic card printers including Polaroid and NBS printers. |
