Securing Zebra Wireless Printers04/23/2008364 Kb

Description:  There is no reason for a printer to be a weak link in wireless network security. This white paper will outline the basics of wireless security and describe how Zebra printers support leading standards and protocols for 802.11 wireless networks, including WPA, 802.1x, LEAP, virtual private networks (VPN) and more.

Full Abstract:  Wireless network security is continually evolving and improving, and the protection available for wireless printers is keeping pace. Even if print jobs and data streams communicated to a wireless printer may not always include sensitive enterprise data, an unsecured or under-secured wireless printer could provide hackers with back door into the enterprise network. Many effective options have been developed to protect wireless LANs since security problems first surfaced several years ago. Zebra Technologies has extended these protections to its mobile and stationary wireless printers, so customers using Zebra printers can benefit from the same security used to protect their access points and mobile computers.
