| The right label can take the labor out of track-and-trace processes. |
|
| Maintaining traceability and documentation on products does not require lots of labor and paperwork. Bar code and radio frequency identification (RFID) labels quickly and accurately access and record information with no paperwork, transcription, or manual lookup required. Zebra has printer and label material combinations that identify all types of objects with bar codes, text, graphics, and RFID. Bring accuracy and accountability to your processes by encoding serial numbers, pedigree information, lot numbers, configuration, and handling information on demand, to track and trace items throughout their life cycle and throughout the supply chain. |

- Add a simple serial number in a bar code to conveniently provide unique lifetime product identification.
- If more data is desired, use Data Matrix or other two-dimensional (2-D) bar code symbologies to encode lot and batch codes, product configuration information, time and place of manufacture, or other information. 2-D codes are also an excellent option for identifying items where space is limited.
- RFID smart labels hold even more data and many can be re-encoded to update chain of custody or service history.
- Electronic Product Code (EPC) RFID technology combines several RFID encoding options with a standardized serial numbering system to uniquely identify items. EPC is a leading option for track-and-trace initiatives in the pharmaceutical, consumer goods, defense, and aerospace industries.
- Zebra has printers and materials to support all these identification options. For added security, bar code and RFID labels can be produced on tamper-evident secure media that includes patterns and other embedded security features for product authentication in the supply chain.
