At Zebra Technologies, our goal is to provide the very best in quality products and services to our valued customers. It has come to our attention that a component of the Ht-146 printer may pose a risk hazard. Zebra has therefore issued a recall of these printers and will no longer manufacture, sell or service this product line.
All Ht-146 printers are being recalled, regardless of serial number or manufacturing date. A photograph of an Ht-146 printer is shown below to assist you in identifying the correct printer model.
POTENTIAL HAZARD AND DESCRIPTION
This recall is being conducted due to the possibility that affected printers may overheat and become a burn or fire hazard to people or property. Although only a few instances of this malfunction have been reported, our concern for the safety of our customers is paramount.
Please discontinue use of all Ht-146 printers and contact Zebra for a free replacement printer. Zebra will replace every Ht-146 printer with an upgraded model, the 2746e printer, at no charge. The 2746e has a number of additional features including all-metal durability, and will work with most of your current Ht-146 supplies. After you complete the installation of each replacement 2746e printer, we ask that you return the Ht-146 printer to Zebra in the shipping carton – again, at no charge to you -- to ensure no individual or company remains at risk from the Ht-146 printer. Please follow the directions shown below. |

NEXT STEPS
1. Complete the country-specific Form for each Ht-146 printer you own and return it to Zebra. You can fax or e-mail this form to the fax number or e-mail address provided on the Form. If necessary, please make additional copies of the Form to capture the information needed for each Ht-146 printer. The Form will require you to enter the model number and serial number of your printer. Please see the diagram below for location of these numbers on the product identification label.
2. Upon receipt of this form, Zebra will ship replacement 2746e printers to you on a one-for-one basis.
3. The replacement printers will include two key sets of instructions inside the cartons: |

- Instructions for setting up your specific applications with the 2746e printers. We do not anticipate that you will have any problems since the 2746e printer is a very close match to the Ht-146 printer. Nonetheless, if you do encounter some difficulties, please do not hesitate to call the support numbers listed in the document.
- Shipping instructions for returning your Ht-146 printers to Zebra. We have included pre-addressed and pre-paid shipping documents to make this as easy and as painless as possible. Again, please do not hesitate to call the appropriate support number if you have any questions.
4. Zebra will ship the replacement printers to you at no charge prior to the return of your Ht-146 printer(s). Zebra has also arranged to cover all customs fees, where applicable.
