Any devices operating at the same frequency have the potential to interfere with each other. The biggest problem may come from the legacy 900 MHz wireless LANs currently used in many warehouses. There are ways to work around this issue by setting up these systems so that they do not use the same RF channels at the same time. It is also important to note that older (circa 915 MHz) WLAN installations are being replaced by 2.45 GHz systems.
Both 13.56 MHz and 900 MHz offer great features for a wide variety of applications. The applications will dictate which technology offers the better choice based on specific performance requirements. For supply chain and logistics applications, 900 MHz will be the clear winner due to its read-range performance.
