in the address bar

Adding Printers and Classes
Zebra does not provide a driver for use on Linux/Unix or Mac OS X operating systems but instead suggests the use of the Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) driver. Examples are based on CUPS v 1.4.4.
If the web interface is disabled, please use Terminal and run the instruction ‘cupsctl WebInterface=yes’ to enable the web interface and try again.
Step 1
Open a web browser and
enter http://localhost:631
in the address bar
From the Home page select

Under Printers, select Add Printer
The system will search for printers
Step 3
CUPS will display a list of discovered
printers and ports*:
Select AppSocket/HP JetDirect
Click continue
Step 4
Enter the printer’s connection information in this format:
socket://IP.IP.IP:Port
Desktop/Tabletop default port: 9100
Mobile printers default port: 6101
Click continue
Step 5
Enter Name, Description and Location information
for the printer
Check Share this printer if desired
Click continue
Step 6
Scroll through the printer list
Select Zebra
Click continue
Step 7
Select the command language used by the printer
Click Add Printer
Zebra printers currently being manufactured use
Zebra Programming Language (ZPL)
If you are setting up an older Zebra printer, consult your
manual to confirm the specific printer language (CPCL, EPL1, EPL2 or ZPL)

1 | Ensure the printer is connected and powered on (the printer will be automatically detected) Select the printer under Local Printers Click continue |
2 | When the Found New Printer dialog box appears: Choose Select Printer From Database Then select Zebra* from the list of printer manufacturers Click forward/next |
3 | Select the command language used by the printer Click Add Printer Note that printers currently being manufactured use Zebra Programming Language (ZPL). If you are setting up an older Zebra printer, consult your manual to confirm the specific printer language

4 | Enter Printer Name, Description and Location information for the printer The name and description boxes will be pre-populated by the PnP information and can be changed if desired Click Apply |
5 | A test page dialog will be displayed. Print a test page if desired. |
