Zebra TC56 smartphones replace two separate devices, improving efficiency and comfort.
BOURNE END, UK – June 4, 2018 – Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), the market leader in rugged mobile computers, barcode scanners and barcode printers enhanced with software and services to enable real-time enterprise visibility, announced that Riool Reinigings Service has improved the management of staff emergency calls and simplified communication between engineers and HQ since deploying Zebra®TC56 touch computers.
Riool Reinigings Service (RRS), one of the largest sewer and drainage cleaning companies in the Netherlands, has equipped its field engineers with Zebra's TC56 to act as both a mobile phone and mobile computer for use during site visits, replacing two separate devices in previous use by RRS' engineers.
- RRS engineers work in awkward, confined, dusty and often wet conditions, making a rugged and reliable device essential. The TC56’s Corning® Gorilla® Glass touch panel and imager window brings maximum scratch- and shatter-proofing to the device, which will continue to function after water immersion.
- The appeal of Zebra's TC56 was amplified through its complete Android proposition, including the latest version of Android, Nougat 7.0, and Mobility DNA for enterprise administration utilities, both of which would integrate seamlessly with the Android presence within the business' IT infrastructure.
- RRS is an organisation that uses Android, so it was vital that the new device they chose runs the new RRS Android application, informing field engineers of the details and location of their next jobs and making information accessible at the right time.
- Zebra provided StageNow, its tool designed to make device staging as easy as possible, to prepare all Zebra TC56 devices for use within RRS, ensuring that full software functionality can be utilized.
Emile Tenhagen, ICT Manager, RRS
"When Zebra presented us with the TC56, we quickly realized that it offered all the convenience and functionality our IT and field engineering teams were asking for. We were incredibly impressed with the demonstrations we were given at Zebra's Technical Center in Brno (Czech Republic), and the feedback that has already come in from users of the device has been extremely positive. Their jobs have been made much easier by being able to do everything on one device instead of two."
Richard Blikman, Service Engineer, RRS
"The performance of the TC56, together with RRS' new Android app, helps streamline our work far better than other devices we have used in the past. The TC56 is larger and has a better keyboard with the option of text corrections. The combination of more accurate GPS and Google Maps makes getting from job to job easier, and having the ability to access other Android apps like Google Hangouts makes communication with other engineers and HQ much more straightforward."
Lennard Doove, Sales Manager Transport & Logistics and Industries Benelux, Zebra Technologies
"Field workers want a device every bit as contemporary and usable as a consumer smartphone. The TC56 is built for the business world and I'm delighted that RRS has chosen it as their day-to-day mobile device of choice for their engineers, helping them save both time and money for workflow management including emergency callouts."
