Kevin Richardson serves as Outside Counsel on Global Government Affairs for Zebra Technologies Corporation and as the President and Managing Director of the Heartland Solutions Group (HSG), a boutique-consulting firm that provides clients with both complete outsourced management of all external affairs functions and a suite of individualized services that enable clients to engage successfully the full spectrum of external stakeholders that affect reputation and business operations. HSG currently operates in Australia, Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Prior to starting the Heartland Solutions Group in 2006, Mr. Richardson served as the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs for the ServiceMaster Company, where he led the North American government and public affairs efforts of a then-publicly traded Fortune 250 company with over $6.0 billion in customer-level revenue and 60,000 direct and franchise employees. He has also served as the Vice President of Government Relations for R.R. Donnelley, a then-Fortune 275 leader in print, logistics and digital content management. Preceding this position, Mr. Richardson served as the Vice President of Government & Member Relations for the (former) Electronic Industries Association in Arlington, Virginia, where he led both the advocacy and membership development efforts of the nation’s then-largest high tech manufacturing trade association.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Richardson served as both an Associate Counsel on the Committee on the Judiciary in the U.S. House of Representatives and as the Assistant Political Action Committee Director of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). In addition, Mr. Richardson has worked on numerous political and issue campaigns throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. In 2012, Mr. Richardson was an elected delegate to the Republican National Convention from the state of Illinois.
Mr. Richardson is the elected Mayor of the Village of Lake Barrington, Illinois. He is also a member of the Board of Visitors of the Graduate School of Public Policy at Pepperdine University and a former member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame. His civic involvement includes his service on the Political Advocacy Committee of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
A native of suburban Chicago, Mr. Richardson is a graduate of both Pepperdine University School of Law and the University of Notre Dame and is a member of the Bar of the state of Illinois and the District of Columbia.
