POCKET -SIZED ENTERPRISE-CLASS 802.11ac ACCESS POINT

Introducing the AP 7502, the pocket-sized 802.11ac access point that’s purpose built for public-facing micro-cell environments such as hotel and patient rooms, assisted living facilities, dormitory housing, apartments and more. The tiny access point gives your customers a cost-effective way to provide the dependable, blazing fast wireless speeds that today’s users expect, no matter how many devices they have or how much bandwidth their apps need. The AP 7502’s revolutionary small size makes it easy to install anywhere, while the understated design allows it to easily hide in plain sight. The access point can be installed in just a few minutes, with zero-touch auto configuration. And locationing support, including the new Bluetooth SMART standard, lets your customers engage their community in exciting, highly personalized ways.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

802.11ac — maximum Wi-Fi speed

As the fifth generation Wi-Fi, 802.11ac is a faster and more scalable version of 802.11n — delivering speeds that are on par with Gigabit Ethernet. With over double the throughput of 802.11n, your customers can provide all their users with desktop-style speed on all their devices and all their applications — including streaming video.

Comprehensive mobile device support — 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz

With its dual 802.11n and 802.11ac radios, the AP 7502 supports all the mobile devices that walk through the door, from legacy 2.4 GHz devices to today’s new 5 GHz consumer smartphones.

Advanced features deliver superior Wi-Fi performance

The AP 7502 is optimized for micro-cell environments where RF interference between neighboring access points can degrade the wireless connection. Adaptive RF Power automatically detects nearby access points and adjusts the output power as needed, while Automatic Channel Selection ensures the selection of an unused or least used channel. The result is better performance with less hands-on network management. In addition, load balancing prevents an overload of users on any specific access point and works in conjunction with RoamAssist to override “client stickiness” (clients that won’t roam prematurely), ensuring that every client is being serviced by the access point that will provide the best signal. The result is true mobile phone-style fast roaming — and a superior user experience.

Advanced locationing services: Bluetooth SMART

The AP 7502 supports Bluetooth SMART, in addition to Wi-Fi locationing and Apple’s iBeacon, giving your customers a powerful new way to create a highly personalized guest experience. For example, a hotel can send targeted messages to its guests as they enter their room or walk by the restaurant — such as a special coupon for dining or spa services.

Flexible management options

Your customers can choose the management model that best meets their needs and environment:

  • An AP 7502 can be adopted by a Zebra wireless controller, simplifying everyday management and monitoring.
  • An AP 7502 can adopt up to 24 additional AP 7502 access points, ideal for smaller organizations that don’t need a wireless switch.
  • An AP 7502 can operate in standalone mode and managed individually, ensuring the continuation of wireless services even if the connection to the centralized controller is lost.

Install in minutes

Installation is literally a snap. Just mount the bracket wherever you like and snap the AP 7502 into the bracket. 802.3af/at PoE support eliminates the need and the expense of running cabling. And with true zero-touch provisioning, the AP 7502 is automatically discovered and configured — no hands on required.

Discrete, “hide in sight” design fits in any environment

The AP 7502’s revolutionary small size makes it easy to install anywhere, while the understated design allows it to easily hide in plain sight. The LEDs can easily be disabled via the central controller to make the access point even harder to spot. And your customers can add a decorative trim plate over the AP 7502 for a more polished look in visible areas.

Tamper-proof design

Purposefully designed for guest and public-facing areas, the AP 7502 is virtually tamper proof to minimize maintenance and repairs. Once the AP 7502 is snapped into its metal bracket that is mounted to the wall, it cannot be removed without a special tool. For added security, the AP 7502 can be bolted directly to the metal bracket.

Pass-through Power-over-Ethernet (PoE)

Pass-through PoE can simplify and reduce the time and cost associated with installing other types of devices. The AP 7502 can provide power to an IP security camera, a VoIP phone, or another access point, all without running power cables.
