Impinj Monza R6 and NXP UCODE 9 RFID tag ICs only support permalocking and require a different ZPL syntax to lock.

Applicable To

ZD500R, ZD621R, ZT410R, ZT420R, ZT411R, ZT421R, ZT610R, ZT620R, ZQ520R, ZQ511R, ZQ521R, and ZQ630R

Resolution / Answer

UCODE 9 and Monza R6 tags only support permalocking and do not have Access and Kill passwords like most RAIN RFID chips. These tag ICs are Gen2v2 and ISO compliant, but require a Lock command payload of FFFFFh to permanently lock memory.
This is supported on Zebra Link-OS printers via the ^RLM command. To permalock UCODE 9 or Monza R6 chip, a 5th parameter "t" must be specified in the ^RLM command: ^RLM,P,P,P,P,P

NOTE Monza R6 and UCODE 9 do not support Access or Kill passwords. Attempting to encode an Access or Kill password on these chips will result in voided labels.

NOTE ZebraDesigner Pro Version 2.5 does not support the extra 5th parameter required to permalock these chips. As a workaround, manually add the ZPL to the label or consider upgrading to ZebraDesigner Pro Version 3.
