Issue / Question
How do I prevent the Administrator Credentials message to pop up?
Applicable To
Zebra CardStudio V1.1 up to and including V1.27.
Windows 7 Operating Systems
CardStudio software installed on a corporate network
Users who do not have admin rights
Resolution / Answer
Windows 7 User Access Control (UAC) feature responds with the following message
Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?
In addition you may be prompted for administrator credentials whenever users try to open Zebra CardStudio Software.
Cause
The request for credentials is a feature of Microsoft Windows 7 UAC (User Account Control) whenever an application makes a change to the system. If the computer is on a corporate network most users will not have local administrator access rights and therefore cannot change the UAC settings.
Solution
CardStudio V1.30 needs to be installed as this version of the software will not show this message, or the user will need to have Admin Rights on the computer with the installed software
