Card stalls/stops when moving from the feeder assembly.

If the card stalls/stops when moving from the feeder assembly, the problem will either be card not recognized by the card sensor, lack of friction, or a feed motor problem.

  • To avoid a problem with the card sensor, make sure you are not using cards with holes pre-punched. Pre-punched holes can throw off the card sensor causing the roller in the flipper assembly to stall.
  • To confirm that the issue is not due to a lack of friction, swab the rollers as per the cleaning document that pertains to your printer model. Swabbing the rollers is the best way to clean the rollers, and improve friction to allow the bottom rollers to pull the cards through the transport path.
  • If the roller in the flipper module does not turn at all when the card starts to move from the feeder, the problem will either be a bad motor or a bad card sensor. If the problem is either a bad card sensor or bad motor, contact your reseller for more assistance, the printer may have to be repaired.

Card stalls when moving from the lower cleaning assembly.

If the card stalls when moving backward, through the blue cleaning assembly into the flipper module, the problem will either be due to a lack of friction or a broken card sensor.
  • The lower transport roller that sits beneath the blue cleaning assembly might not have enough friction to move the card backward through the card path. To confirm that the issue is not due to a lack of friction, swab the rollers as per the cleaning document that pertains to your printer model. Swabbing the rollers is the best way to clean the rollers, and improve friction to allow the bottom rollers to pull the cards through the transport path.

If you do not see the transport roller in the flipper module turn when a card is way through the blue cleaning assembly and just starting to reach the flipper module, the problem may be due to a broken card sensor. Contact your reseller for more assistance, if you believe the problem is a broken card sensor; the printer may have to be repaired.
