Answer

Terminal services program does not adequately trap and capture keystrokes generated by the snap-on keypad when used in a Terminal Services Application. The Keypad attached to terminal does not initially operate or scan.

The snap-on keypad can be enabled in a Terminal Services Application (e.g. – Remote Desktop).
  1. Need to install an updated .dll to the device to enable the snap-on keypad input to be registered in Terminal Services.
  2. Obtain Snap-on Keypad drivers from http://supportcentral.motorola.com/
  3. Using ActiveSync, copy "KeyPad.sa.CAB" to the PPT28xx.
  4. From the Start Menu, tap on "Programs".
  5. Tap on "File Explorer".
  6. Browse to the directory where you copied "KeyPad.sa.CAB".
  7. Tap on "KeyPad.sa.CAB" and the package will install.
  8. Unzip the contents of the keypad2800.zip.
  9. Drag and drop the Copy the keypad.dll into the platform folder.
  10. Warm-boot the PPT28xx.
