How to adjust volume levels within the Zebra Volume Control (ZVC) UI using StageNow Tool?

How to customize an audio stream, for example set to maximum and prevent user from changing the volume setting?

Steps:

1. Open StageNow Tool in Administrator mode.
2. Create new Profile. Select MX version 4.4Read More>>
3. Select Xpert Mode then hit [Create]




4. Enter profile name. Example "CustomVolume" then hit [Start]
5. Under Settings tab, select AudioVolUIMgr then hit [+]
6. Config tab should list AudioVolUIMgr. Hit [Add] to proceed




7. Set Current Active Profile Action to Set an Audio UI Profile as the current Profile. Default is Do Nothing. Read More>>
8. Specify the name of the audio profile that we are about to create. Example CustomVolume. This will become the new current Audio Profile.
9. Set Adjust current audio volume to Adjust the volume level
10. Set Audio UI Profile Action to Add an Audio UI Profile

12. Specify custom name for UI Label of STREAM_MUSIC. For TC70x Nougat, the default label for this audio stream is Media volume. Read More>>
13. Leave UI Icon of STREAM_MUSIC blank. This will cause ZVC to display the default icon defined for this audio stream.
14. Set Control Parameters of STREAM_MUSIC to 1 to make this audio stream visible.
15. Set the minimum, maximum, and preset volume levels for Speaker, Receiver, Wired Headset and Bluetooth Headset Mode to 0,15,15. Valid range for this stream is 0–15 (0=inaudible; 15=max).




16. Specify custom name for UI Label of STREAM_RING. For TC70x Nougat, the default label for this audio stream is Ring volume. Read More>>
17. Leave UI Icon of STREAM_RING blank. This will cause ZVC to display the default icon defined for this audio stream.
18. Set Control Parameters of STREAM_RING to 1 to make this audio stream visible.
19. Set the minimum, maximum, and preset volume levels for Speaker, Receiver, Wired Headset and Bluetooth Headset Mode to 0,7,0. Valid range for this stream is 0–7 (0=inaudible; 7=max).

22. Set Control Parameters of STREAM_NOTIFICATION to 1 to make this audio stream visible.
23. Set the minimum, maximum, and preset volume levels for Speaker, Receiver, Wired Headset and Bluetooth Headset Mode to 0,7,0. Valid range for this stream is 0–7 (0=inaudible; 7=max).

27. Set Control Parameters of STREAM_ALARM to 1 to make this audio stream visible.
28. Set the minimum, maximum, and preset volume levels for Speaker, Receiver, Wired Headset and Bluetooth Headset Mode to 0,7,7. Valid range for this stream is 0–7 (0=inaudible; 7=max).

31. Leave UI Icon of Decode Beep Virtual Volume Scale blank. This will cause ZVC to display the default icon defined for this audio stream.
32. Set Control Parameters of STREAM_VVS to 1 to make this audio stream visible.
33. Set the minimum, maximum, and preset volume levels for Speaker, Receiver, Wired Headset and Bluetooth Headset Mode to 0,10,0. Valid range for this stream is 0–10 (0=inaudible; 10=max).




34. Hit [Continue], review if needed then hit [Complete Profile>]
35. Test the completed profile.





36. From the Zebra Android device, launch the StageNow client




37. Scan the barcode from step 35.


38. After the device has been successfully stage, close StageNow client.
39. At this point, volume for Ring, Notifications and Scanner are turned off while Media and Alarm are set to maximum.
