Enabling DataWedge to Scan on Enterprise Browser

Issue / Question

No scan beam appears when I press the trigger button to scan the Enterprise Browser.

TC51, TC56, TC70X, TC75X and Enterprise Browser (Version 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 and 1.8)

Resolution / Answer


Procedure: 

  1. Launch the DataWedge.
  2. Select Menu ellipsis (…).
  3. Go to Settings and select the Disabled app list.
  4. Select the com.symbol.enterprisebrowser and click Delete app/ activity.
  5. Go to Enterprise Browser config.xml and set the value for tag <usedwforscanning> to 1.

0 - Enable scanning through Enterprise Browser APIs (default; DataWedge disabled)
1 - Enable scanning through DataWedge (Enterprise Browser scanning disabled)

 

NOTE 
For Datawedge 6.0.1 and higher:
DO NOT associate Enterprise Browser to profiles such as DWdemo or Launcher, make sure to link it to either Profile0 or create its own profile.
