Question

How do you setup a static IP address on a ET1/MC40/TC55/TC70 running Jellybean?

Facts

These steps are for Jellybean OS. Gingerbread where applicable does not follow these same steps. Setting static ip results in unit requesting a DHCP address.

Answer

From settings>Wi-Fi you will see the network in the list, click on it and scroll down past the password to “show advanced options” and check off. Scrolling down from there will show IP settings, tap to change from DHCP to Static.

Leaving any field blank will cause it to go back to using DHCP. You must fill out all of the following fields:

IP address - Enter the IP address in the dialog box.
Gateway - Enter the gateway address in the dialog box.
Network prefix length - Enter the Netmask address in the dialog box.
DNS1 - Enter the DNS1 address in the dialog box.
DNS 2 - Enter the DNS1 address in the dialog box.
