How to automatically "Enter" scanned data on a XT15 CE6.0 fitted with Decoded Scanner (internal)
This article provides a way to configure an Omnii device running Windows CE6.0 fitted with an internal decoded scanner such as a SE1524 auto range to automatically send an "Enter" (append Enter) after each barcode scan.
Instead of having our mobile workers press the [Enter] key to send scanned data to the Host application after each read of a barcode, we can configure in Scanner settings, Data Format to include a suffix character equal to ASCII "carriage return" (CR) / Decimal 13. This enables the device to automatically submit scanned data.
Note that this configuration applies to all barcode types hence we can consider this parameter a "global" setting.
Scanner: SE1524 ER (Internal/ Auto Range)
1. Click on Start> Settings> Control Panel
2. Open Scanners settings
3. Expand Data Options by clicking on the + sign
4. Double-click on Scan Data Format
5. Select data <S1>
6. Hit [OK] to save and exit from Scanner settings.
Note: by default, Suffix is equal to 13
