Question

How Do I Configure the VRC794x Spectrum24 Card Settings?

Facts

For a basic WLAN configuration of the VRC794X, it is necessary to configure the ESSID, and set either a fixed IP address or enable DHCP.

Answer

Follow these steps to configure the VRC794X ESSID
  1. Select Start, Settings, Control Panel, and then select: Spectrum24 FH Settings if the unit is a VRC7942 (2Mbs radio) or Spectrum24 Settings if the unit is a VRC7946 (11Mbs radio).
  2. Set the ESSID for your network and then press OK.

To set the IP address or select DHCP:
  1. Select Start, Settings, Control Panel, Network. Scroll down and then select: SLACE1: Spectrum24 WLAN Driver if the unit is a VRC7942 (2Mbs radio) or SLA4IND41: Spectrum24 HR WLAN Driver if the unit is a VRC7946 (11Mbs radio).
  2. Press the Properties button and select whether DHCP is to be used, or specify an IP address, then press OK, OK. (At this stage ignore the message that suggests you should remove the radio card!)
  3. Once both of the above stages are complete select Start, Programs, Save Registry, Yes.

To finish installing the new settings warm boot the terminal.
