Question

How Do I Verify that a Bar Code Symbology Is Active in WaveLink Emulation Software?

Answer

To test a barcode, go to Wavelink Diagnostic mode
  1. To get to Diagnostics mode, you need to be in the TE client.  Press ALT (Func then Cntrl if there is no ALT key) then D.  Diagnostic mode can also be accessed from the OPTIONS MENU also.  Select Options.
  2. Select View Emulation Keyboard.
  3. Select Diags from the bottom row of the Emulation Keyboard.
  4. Press “S” to go in to Scan/MSR Test.
  5. Scan a bar code that was generated with the symbology in question.
  6. If you get a successful scan, then the symbology is enabled within the emulation software.
  7. If the barcode cannot be read, then the symbology could be disabled in the emulation software, you may have a damaged barcode (torn or unreadable due to damage), or a specific parameter in the emulation that goes along with the specific symbology is not enabled (Length, Supplamentals, Check Digit, etc…)
  8. To exit the Scan/MSR Test, press “Q” to Quit.  This will take you back one screen.
  9. Press “Q” once again, and you will be back to the screen you started from.
