Question

How to Change the Font Size in Pocket Browser Using a Registry File?

Facts

Unlike Pocket IE, Pocket Browser does not have a GUI based way of changing the default font size.

Answer

Add a registry key to change the default font size to the SPB.reg (or SIE.reg) file.
  1. Using the explore feature in ActiveSync locate the SIE.reg or SPB.reg file in the \Application folder.
  2. Copy the registry file to the desktop of your PC.
  3. Right click on the registry file on your desktop and choose edit.
  4. Add the following key to the bottom of the file:
    • [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Symbol\SymbolPB\Tags\TextSize]
      "Smallest"=dword:00000000
  5. This particular entry sets the font to Smallest.
  6. You can also use:“Largest” “Larger” “Medium” (Default)“Smaller” "Smallest”
  7. Save the file.
  8. Place the file in the \Application folder of the device using the same method as in Step 1, overwriting the original file.
  9. Cold boot (hard reset) the device.
