Question

How to Remap a Key on an MC3000?

Facts

MC3000

Answer

Attempt to remap a key on the MC3000 does not implement any changes.
The key mapping files on the MC3000 work differently than other Zebra Enterprise devices. On other Motorola Solutions devices remapped key files are usually copied into the Windows directory by placing them in the Platform or Application directory and using a .cpy copy file to transfer them on a cold boot.

The remapped .sct, .rmt and .mmt files must be placed in the Platform/Keyboard folder on the MC3000.
  1. On the MC3000 the key mapping files are stored in the Platform/Keyboard folder on the device.
  2. Place your remapped key files into this directory, overwriting the existing files.
  3. Warm boot or cold boot the device to implement the changes.
No .cpy copy file is needed on this device to make the changes persist through a cold boot.
