Why Do Mobile Devices Associated to the AP5131 Show a Different MAC Address for the Associated AP5131?
The MAC address of the AP5131 that a mobile unit (MU) is associated to is the “Base MAC address” plus 1, 2 or 3 since the AP5131 can have up to four BSSID’s. The MAC address the MU associates to, when associating to an AP5131 may be the base MAC or one of the other BSSID’s of the base MAC in the AP5131. See the example below.
Example: If 00:A0:F8:72:28:C0 is the base MAC, the first BSSID will be the base MAC address; the second will end in C1, the third will end in C2, etc. If the MU has associated to the second BSSID for example the MAC address that would appear as the MAC your MU associated to in this case would be 00:A0:F8:72:28:C1
