PEAP WPA-PEAP Certificates with ZT and QLn series printers
Article ID: 99284492
Symptom If your use PEAP or WPA-PEAP encryption on your wireless network without verifying the server's certificate for authentication, you will have to send a command to the printer to allow for the connection to be made. Applies To All Link-OS enabled Zebra printers such as the QLn Series Mobile Printers and the ZT Series Tabletop Printers. Cause or Overview If PEAP or WPA-PEAP is being used and the value is set for "on", then a valid server certificate must be present on the printer. If the certificate is expired, missing or invalid, the PEAP or WPA-PEAP connection will fail. The certificate needs to be in the PEM format and be named CACERTSV.NRD. Solution If a customer would prefer to run PEAP or WPA-PEAP without verifying the server's certificate, then this setting should be set for "off" ! U1 setvar "wlan.8021x.peap.validate_server_certificate" "on" ! U1 setvar "wlan.8021x.peap.validate_server_certificate" "off" The command can be sent to the printer using the Zebra Setup Utility. The Zebra Setup Utility has a communications window where commands can be entered and sent to the QLn printer.
