There are two modes used to print a UV image, Single Pass or Double Pass.

The Single Pass mode prints the UV panel along with the color panels. Since the UV panel is dye sublimation material it will diffuse into the other color dye sublimation material. The fluorescing characteristics are considerable diminished unless there are no colors where the UV material is being printed.

The Double Pass mode prints the UV dye sublimation material after the color material is transferred to the card and then transfers the UV material to the card. This process prevents the UV material from diffusing into the color material thus producing a brighter UV image on the card.
