Question

What Are the Different Features of the Trilogy Radio Types?

Facts

Spectrum24 mobile unit

Answer

A Spectrum24 mobile unit may have radio connectivity or performance issues in a given network infrastructure environment. This may be due to the particular “Trilogy” radio card and settings within the mobile unit. Know the Network environment and type of mobile computers used for the given site. Many third party radios use “long preamble only”. This will define the best configuration possible for a wireless network.

Spectrum24 radio family known as Trilogy has three versions “T1”, “T2” and “T2+”.
  • T1 radio has only standard preamble now known as “long preamble”.  If network infrastructure APs are set to “short preamble”, mobile units will not connect.
  • T2 radio will automatically follow the access point preamble settings and work with long or short preamble. With proper drivers and firmware, KeyGuard is supported.
  • T2+ radio has hardware enhancements supporting multi-pathing with diversity antennas (two antennas).  Not all hand held mobile units have two antennas and must be set to “Primary Antenna” normal default.
