Question

What Is the Minimum Bandwidth Required for the WS5100 v3.0 Layer-Three Adoption of the AP300?

Answer

The WS5100 v3.0 allows for layer-three adoption for the AP300 only. There are minimum bandwidth requirements in order to adopt the AP300 over a layer-three connection.

Minimum bandwidth required to adopt one AP300 is 15kbps upstream plus 15kbps downstream. If adopting more than one AP300, over a layer-three network, take the number of AP300s and multiply it by 30kbps (15kbps upstream plus 15kbps downstream). The maximum latency (measured in a ping round trip time) to adopt one AP300 is about 500ms.

Ensure and validate that the necessary bandwidth for the layer-three network is available before deploying this solution.
