Question

Why Can't I Use Spaces Between Words on the AP5131 v2.x when Creating WLAN SSID?

Facts

AP5131

Answer

On the AP5131 v1.X releases, the GUI supports spaces between words when creating the WLAN SSID  (example: TEST WLAN).

The AP5131 v2.X does not support spaces when using the GUI to create a WLAN SSID and has to be configured via the CLI.

If spaces are required for the WLAN SSID, CLI access will be required. After accessing the AP5131 CLI, proceed to the network/wireless/WLAN/create prompt. Issue the following commands:

  1. Set ess WLAN\20NAME [Enter]
  2. Add-wlan [Enter]
  3. Save [Enter]

The \20 parameter is required to create the space between the WLAN names.
