Question

Why wont my scanner read a bar code on a curved surface?

Answer

No decode is a common problem which may occur when attempting to scan a bar code on a cylindrical surface. If the placement of the barcode is parallel to the circumference of the cylinder, the dimensions of the bar code will change. In order for the scanner (laser or digital) to properly decode the barcode, the x-dimension must be consistent.
