If you are sending your label request to the printer and the printer data light is flashing but the printer is not responding, try using the hex dump (Communication Diagnostic)
Data light flashing, a communication diagnostic can be performed to troubleshoot interconnections between host and printer.
- If data light is flashing and the printer fails to respond, place the printer into hex dump mode. This is done by accessing the printer LCD Display and setting COMMUNICATIONS from NORMAL to DIAGNOSTIC mode. You will then be able to determine if the host is sending the correct ZPL commands by comparing the host and printer received data. The printer prints all received data in the form of literal ASCII hex characters and will give you the ability verify communications.
