Topic or Information

Random spots of missing print can be caused by numerous problems ranging from debris on the printhead, debris on the rollers (platen roller in particular), or debris on the cards.  Almost all of these issues are resolved with standard cleaning.

Zebra Performance Class and Value Class Card Printers (P100i, P110i, P110m, P120i, P330i, P430i)

This solution is useful for:

  • All card printer models.
  • Print Quality issues.

This solution addresses the following problems:

  • Random print voids on cards

Random print voids typically result from contamination on cards:

  • Check for dust inside the printer and for a particle-saturated cleaning roller. Oily film deposits can also produce print voids, in this case try another box of cards. Take care how the cards are handled and keep them as clean as you can.  See Additional Information below for cleaning information.  You will be directed to the Support Page for your printer on Zebra.com in most cases as there are How-to Videos on cleaning procedures.
