ZT Series Printer Take Label Sensors do not detect the peeled label

Article ID: 66583368

One of the following:

  • The ZT-Series Printer continues printing after the label is peeled.
  • The printer does not detect the peeled label
  • The printer does not stop after printing a label

Applies To

ZT Series Printers including the ZT200 Series and the ZT400 Series that are properly configured for Peel Mode but are not detecting the peeled label.

Cause or Overview

The Take Label or Peel Sensors on the ZT Series printers are calibrated at the factory to properly detect a label when set to Peel Mode. The sensor values can be altered when incorrectly performing a Manual Calibration. Typically the Configuration Label will show the Take Label value at 255.

Assure the printer is properly configured for Peel Mode. If the problem still exists perform the Manual Calibration. When performing the calibration procedure assure the Peel Mechanism is closed and there is no label or backing blocking the Peel Sensor light path when prompted to "Load Backing and Remove Ribbon".
