Using the Print Station option on the ZT400 Series tabletop printers with a USB keyboard
ZT410, ZT410R, ZT420, and ZT420R
The ZT400 Series printers have a USB host port on the front of the printer. You can use the port to plug in a USB keyboard to enter variable data into label formats that are stored on the printer's E: memory and contain variable data fields. This somewhat eliminates the need for a keyboard display unit such as the KDU Plus or ZKDU. It is also a convenient way of using the printer standalone when majority of label data is static and only a few fields change from print job to print job. Below are instructions on how to do this.
1. Enter the menu of the printer and access the tools section. Within the tools section scroll to the "Print Station" parameter. It should read the memory and display the stored label formats:
2. Select the format that you wish to open and use. When you do this, you will be prompted to input the first variable data field. Enter your data in and hit the right dash under the LCD to get to the next step.
Note: If you are only prompted for label quantity, the label format may need modification Read More>>
3. If there are more fields requiring variable data input, enter in those values and again hit the right dash under the LCD to move forward or done if it is your last variable input field.
4. Once all of your variable fields are filled in you will be requested for the quantity that you want printed. Enter the quantity and hit the right dash again (GO) to print your labels.
