SPR 30819 - UTF-8 QR barcode with Chinese content is not decoded correctly.


UTF-8 encoding in the Scanner framework is not enabled. Incorrect characters were seen in the decoded data.

Resolve the issue by enable UTF-8 encoding in the scanner framework, along with scanner frame work changes and datawedge setting changes.

Note: The CAB file contains following activities

1. Enable the UTF-8 encoding in the Scanner framework.

2. the Data Wedge settings change, Data wedge ->Advanced Configuration->Profiles->Profile0->Output->Keystroke->Send as events is unchecked (By default this is checked).

Installation Requirements

MC32 MC92, VC70, and WT41 Chinese device must contain a released version of CE 7.0 and WM6.5

Installation Instructions

For Normal installation of the PATCH:

1.     Copy "" file to the application folder on the device by using Microsoft Active Sync or Mobile Device Center.

2.     Navigate on the device to the application folder.

3.     Deploy the solution by tapping on the "" file.

4.    After successful deployment of the "" file, device will do an automatic warm boot.

For MSP or REMOTE installation of the PATCH:

1.     Set up MDM (MSP, Soti, Airwatch, etc..) to send "" file to the application folder of the device.

2.     To deploy the solution, setup in MDM to install the cab file "" file.

3.     Changes will take effect after a manual reboot of the terminal or if MDM reboots device.
