Issue / Question
When ZXP Series 3 / ZXP Series 1 displaying Out of Card error
Applicable To
ZXPS1, ZXPS3
Resolution / Answer
The "Out of Card" error on the LCD indicates that when the printer is trying to feed a card, it did not successfully load a card into the input hopper.
The possibilities are:
1. No more cards in the input hopper
2. There are cards in the feeder but somehow the printer did not manage to feed the card into the flipper.
If there are cards in the feeder, check the thickness setting is set to the thickness of your card.
Note: you can try to set the thickness 1 click further to allow cards to enter the flipper module more easily.
Beware that by making the opening larger, you might cause the printer to feed in too many cards and cause a Card Jam
If you confirm the thickness is set correctly and your cards cannot feed into the flipper, you should check if the surface of the card is clean, smooth, and there is a low amount of static attraction between the cards.
Note: Taking the cards apart without touching the printing surface with your fingers can resolve the static issue
Note: Zebra recommends the usage of original Zebra supplies as it minimizes the risk of feeding errors and will produce the best printing quality. Contact your local Zebra Reseller for more details.
In cases the card still cannot be fed in, try performing a input hopper cleaning cycle.

The reseller can troubleshoot and advise on what could be the issue.
