IMAGE WILL NOT ROTATE WHEN PRINTING ON WIDE LABELS WITH SHORT LENGTH

Article ID: 21835780

Topic or Information

A problem has been reported where customers, printing from a Microsoft App using the Zebra Driver, cannot achieve the desired rotation for the printed image. This occurs when the label size configured in the driver is much higher than the width.

 Applies To

Zebra printer using the ZebraDesigner Driver printing from Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Access or Excel

Details

There is an issue when setting the driver page size to a value that is more that 2x wider than the length results in an incorrectly rotated image. For example, using a value of 4x2 will print correctly but 8x2 results in the image rotating 90 degrees.

User-added image

To avoid this issue you can set the driver to “Override Application Default Settings" - Always use drivers settings

User-added image

For ZPL printers you can change the page size to have a matched height and width. Place the image in the upper area of the page. The printer does not use the driver page size using its label calibration value for label height. For example using an 8x2 label you can use an 8x8 setting and place the image in the upper portion of the WYSIWYG displayed in your application.
