How to make the Bluetooth scanner connection cold boot persistent on Windows CE7.0 mobile computer?

Bluetooth scanner connection is lost after a cold boot

Applicable To

MPA3 Windows CE7.0 mobile computers (MC32N0, MC92N0, WT41N0 and VC70N0)

Wearable Bluetooth scanner such as RS507, RS507x and RS6000

Resolution / Answer

Using BTExplorer (StoneStreet One) Stack:

1. Apply the below registry:


[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stonestreet One\BTExplorer\Remote Devices]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stonestreet One\BTExplorer\Device Settings]
"LastPowerState" = dword:00000001

2. Perform cold boot:

  • MC32N0, MC92N0 and WT41N0. - Simultaneously press the 1, 3 and Power
  • VC70N0 - Simultaneously press the P1, P3 and Power

3. Pair and connect Bluetooth scanner. Example: Pair and Connect RS6000 to WT41N0
4. To test, perform cold boot
5. Bluetooth scanner will reconnect automatically (if within its set Reconnect Attempt Interval) else press the restore (reconnect) button. Example for the RS6000.

* After a cold boot, Bluetooth radio is re-enabled and Bluetooth headset connection should be restored.
