Kiosk Parameter 64 - USB Port Independence to avoid repeated driver reinstall

Parameter 57 and 64 allows for hot swapping of kiosk printers to avoid driver reloading and having to recreate a queue.

TTP Printer Details

Parameter settings cannot be directly configured using Toolbox but use Toolbox to send files as directed.

Go to the Zebra Box link below and copy the TBC files. These will open once clicked in Toolbox and will enable you to send them to the printer if using minimum 4.01 firmware for the TTP printers or K69.1.3 for the KR403.

TTP Procedure

1. Print config report

2. Check 64  all set to N

3. Send the "TTP USB Port Independence ON.tbc" file with the Port Independence code

4. Store settings

5. Print config report

6. Check 64 has been changed

7. If step 6 worked you can now unplug and plug the printer into another USB port, it will not install driver each time.

KR203 Printer Details

Note -  The configuration label for the KR203 with K69.1.31 firmware shows only "57: System."  It does not show individual parameter values.

KR203 Procedure

1. Print config report to confirm your KR203 printer has the K69.1.3 firmware or above and that Parameter 57 is available

2. Send the "KR203 USB Port Independence ON.tbc" file with the Port Independence code

3. Store settings

4. If step 2 worked you can now unplug and plug the printer into another USB port, it will not install driver each time.
