Placing CE Terminal in Cradle Drops GPRS Session
Article ID: 73693251
Placing a CE terminal in a cradle (Serial, USB or Ethernet) will cause an existing GPRS session to be dropped.
CE has a limitation of only one PPP session being allowed at a time. All of the above are PPP sessions. Creating a new one of any type will cause any existing PPP sessions to be dropped first. Thus when ActiveSync (or eConnect) runs, it tries to create a PPP session to communicate through the cradle, causing the existing GPRS PPP session to be dropped.
CE Operating Systems were designed by Microsoft to work this way.
