Overview

The PDF417 Barcode is supported by all ZPL compatible printers or can be generated as a graphic using Labeling Software. PDF417 is a high-capacity two dimensional bar code that can hold approximately 2000 characters of information to whereas a traditional linear bar code has difficulty holding more than 30 characters.

The ZPL ^B7 command produces the PDF417 bar code. It is ideally suited for applications requiring large amounts of information at the time the bar code is read.

The bar code consists of three to 90 stacked rows. Each row consists of start and stop patterns and symbol characters called code-words. A code-word consists of four bars and four spaces. A three code-word minimum is required per row. See the ZPL manual for more details. Read More>>
