Description

This procedure describes Setting up ZebraNet Printer Alerts for SNMP, Email, TCP, or UDP:

Applies To

Zebra Printers using the ZebraNet Print Server Option

Requirements

A ZebraNet Print Server is required, unless you want to send the alerts via the serial port

Alerts are only supported on ZPL based printers with firmware x.10.x or higher.

Overview

Zebra ZPL printers with Firmware X.10.X or higher are capable of supporting Alerts when connected to a ZebraNet Print Server. Alerts are used to monitor the status of a printer. For example, an Alert can be sent to a workstation to notify a user when a printer is out of paper.

Note: For TCP and UDP you must have a application capable of receiving the alerts on the port you specify.  Zebra does not provide such an application.   ZebraNet Bridge and Alert use SNMP.
