Motorola Solutions collaborates with the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore to drive local healthcare mobility applications ecosystem

Singapore, 14 April 2011: Motorola Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: MSI) Motorola Solutions Asia Pacific today announced it has joined hands with the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) to drive the development of a more vibrant ecosystem around healthcare mobility applications in Singapore and in the Asia Pacific.
Motorola Solutions, as the leading communications provider of mobility solutions to government and enterprise customers, will drive reference deployments of these applications through adoption with local healthcare clusters first and later to the rest of the region.
- Over a two-year period from April 1, 2011 - the Healthcare Innovation Programme will leverage on Motorola Solutions’ solutions expertise & relationships with existing and potential Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), to incubate innovative enterprise mobile applications for the sector based on Motorola Solutions’ mobile technologies.
- It also aims to grow and support homegrown successful application developers, and showcase local healthcare clusters as trial or pilot sites for these enterprise mobility applications.
- Motorola Solutions’ healthcare solutions are based on the four key pillars of improving patient safety, enhancing operational efficiency, delivering secure communications, and providing seamless secure connectivity to deliver real-time information 24-7 – which give customers the agility to enable them to transform patients’ healthcare experience as consumers.
- According to IDC Health Insights predictions for the Asia Pacific in 2011, the focus on digitising health records remains the top priority of healthcare providers across the region, among others such as health information exchange initiatives, hospital/clinic information systems, archival & communications systems and computerized order entry systems. These are set to align IT with hospital business goals, improve market responsiveness and achieve seamless operational standards in the next few years.
