DCF Cuts Order Times by 30%, Boosts Revenue with Zebra Technologies’ AI Mobile Computers

French retailer modernises store operations with connected frontline solutions, enhancing efficiency and customer experience

PARIS, France – 29 Sept., 2026 – Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), a global leader in digitising and automating workflows to deliver intelligent operations, today announced that Distribution Casino France (DCF) has deployed Zebra’s AI-enabled mobile computers for its AI e-commerce platform. The solution is connecting its frontline and embedding intelligence into customer service operations.

DCF, the convenience-store division of Casino Group, operates a network of brands including Casino, Spar, and Vival. The group sought to unify its fragmented ordering processes and provide store owners with a modern, efficient workflow. The deployment of the solution with Zebra across 4,500 stores helps franchise owners reduce the time to complete an order by up to 30% and achieve a positive impact on revenue.

Automating Manual Processes
Previously, the team used a combination of manual paper-based processes, handheld terminals, and a back-office PC to build and place orders via a legacy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, making inventory replenishment a time-consuming process that lacked real-time stock visibility. In fact, the team could not determine if an item was available at the warehouse until after an order was submitted, and if something was out of stock, the order process had to start again.

To address these problems, the company built its own C Pro e-commerce platform and selected Zebra’s TC5 Series mobile computers and ET4 Series tablets to create a fully mobile, connected solution.

“We want to offer our stores the same customer experience and ordering journey that a consumer has today when ordering something online: an easy way to search, clear product classification, and good visuals,” says Guillaume Civat, Director of Digital Transformation and Operational Processes, DCF. “Zebra mobile computing solutions are the number one driver of satisfaction in our store network.”

A New Way of Working
Store owners now use the light, practical Zebra devices to manage the entire ordering process directly from the shop floor. This new single, consolidated workflow gives them the autonomy to complete orders without returning to a back-office PC.

The solution provides real-time visibility into warehouse stock, and its offline capability ensures uninterrupted work in stores, even with limited Wi-Fi coverage. This improved workflow helps keep shelves stocked and store associates focused on customers.

“The time to complete an order has dropped by 20 to 30%, depending on the store,” said Civat. “The stores can spend that time on improving things like their shelf layouts and customer service.”

Smarter, More Connected Stores
The solution empowers frontline workers with a more dynamic, intelligent system. When an employee scans an item, the device can surface AI-powered substitution recommendations for out-of-stock products, helping stores place more complete orders.

“AI and intelligent operations can help companies like DCF deliver a connected frontline workforce, better inventory visibility, and elevate the customer experience with embedded intelligence,” said Mark Thomson, Retail Strategy Director EMEA, Zebra Technologies. “Together, we’re making work better everyday on the frontline where customer transactions and trust are won.”

With the new solution, associates can also check product availability, pricing, and delivery dates in the aisle to answer shopper questions more effectively. The successful deployment strengthens DCF’s brand image, helping it attract new franchisees to its network.

“We want to keep investing in as many mobile software solutions as possible to make our lives easier, and the trusting relationship we have with Zebra is what makes that possible,” said Civat.
