GEODIS Enhances Dock Operator Capabilities with Zebra Technologies Solution on Android™ Platform
French last-mile delivery specialist has chosen a mobile solution to streamline workflows at its 110 Distribution & Express branches
PARIS, France - June 7, 2023 - Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), a leading digital solution provider enabling businesses to intelligently connect data, assets, and people, today announced that GEODIS has selected a Zebra wearable mobile solution to streamline workflows. Since January 2022, GEODIS has deployed more than 2,900 Zebra TC21 mobile computers and RS5100 Bluetooth® scanners to digitally transform its loading and unloading operations to meet growing customer demand.
The GEODIS group has a global network covering nearly 170 countries, operating in five business areas of supply chain optimisation, freight forwarding, contract logistics, distribution and express, and road transport.
"Dock operator user feedback has been very positive,” said Sébastien Faivre, Technical and Performance Director, Distribution & Express, GEODIS. “Our new, lighter handheld solution reduces operator fatigue, and the RS5100 finger scanner is more comfortable to use, improving user performance."
GEODIS previously used a Windows®-based Zebra WT40/WT41 mobile solution and the MC3200 handheld terminal. To further increase its operational efficiency, the company needed to migrate from a Windows to an Android platform. After consulting with Zebra partner IER, a specialist in supply chain traceability, GEODIS chose Zebra’s TC21 Android touch computer as its mobility solution, along with Zebra’s RS5100 Bluetooth® scanner.
