Hitting the Road: Bringing the Connected Factory Directly to Vietnam’s Manufacturers

In my conversations with customers and manufacturing leaders across Vietnam, there is a palpable energy right now. As global supply chains diversify, our local manufacturing sector is experiencing breathtaking growth.

However, alongside this momentum, these leaders often share a mix of excitement and pressure. When they discuss their operational needs with me, they consistently highlight a central challenge: “How do we scale fast enough for global exports while meeting incredibly strict international traceability standards?”

It is a tough balancing act. Historically, the immediate answer to scaling up was simply to add more manual labor to the production line. But today, relying solely on manual processes makes it nearly impossible to maintain the end-to-end visibility and quality control that global partners demand.

The Realities of the Visibility Gap

The leaders I speak with know they need to digitize, but bridging the gap between ambition and execution is difficult. Zebra’s latest Manufacturing Vision Study reflects exactly what I hear from our customers: while 87% of manufacturing leaders in APAC have made digital transformation a top priority, only 25% have actually achieved real-time monitoring across their production processes.

That visibility gap isn’t just a statistic - it represents operational bottlenecks, compliance risks, and a barrier to growth. If you cannot definitively trace a product's lifecycle from raw material to final assembly in real time, you risk losing your competitive edge.

Elevating Our Workforce

I firmly believe that the answer to this challenge isn't about replacing our incredible workforce; it is about elevating them. We need to give our frontline workers the tools to work smarter.

Imagine a production line where a worker no longer has to manually log every component. Instead, AI-powered machine vision automatically handles quality control, and RFID tracking provides real-time asset visibility. By equipping a frontline worker with a rugged tablet or a wearable computer, we empower them to make rapid, accurate decisions based on real-time data. That is the heart of a Connected Factory.

A Mobile Invitation for Vietnamese Manufacturers

Talking about AI and automation conceptually is great, but as we often say, seeing is believing. My team and I realized that to truly help our local manufacturers address the needs they've shared with us, we needed to bring the technology directly to them.

That is why we launched our very first mobile Zebra Experience Center (ZEC) on wheels in Vietnam. As part of The Connected Factory Industrial Roadshows 2026, we are taking this immersive, hands-on environment directly to the country’s key industrial zones, starting in Binh Duong and moving to Hai Phong next month.

We warmly invite Vietnamese manufacturers to visit the mobile ZEC when it arrives in your vicinity. Come step inside and experience practical solutions designed for your factory floor, including:

  • Automated Quality Control: See our new network sensor technology and fixed industrial scanners in action.
  • Real-Time Traceability: Test our industrial RFID printers and AI-driven product recognition that ensure end-to-end asset visibility.
  • Frontline Empowerment: Try on wearable picking tech and rugged mobility solutions, secured by our Identity Guardian biometric technology.

Modernizing a factory doesn't have to be an intimidating journey you take alone. While this mobile ZEC brings our expertise directly to manufacturers in Vietnam, it is just one example of our commitment to partnership. We also welcome customers and partners to our permanent Zebra Experience Centers around the world to collaborate and discover how our solutions can enhance your frontline. I look forward to our continued conversations and seeing many of you on the road!
