Multicenter Nearly Doubles Fulfillment Volume with Zebra Technologies

Bolivian retailer modernizes its warehouse operations and strengthens customer loyalty program

SANTA CRUZ, Bolivia – March 30, 2022 - Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), an innovator at the front line of business with solutions and partners that deliver a performance edge, today announced that Bolivia’s largest department store retailer, Multicenter, has increased worker productivity and operational efficiency in its distribution center using Zebra solutions. By deploying Zebra’s MC3300 mobile computers and ZT230 industrial printers, Multicenter has increased its order fulfillment over 95% and operational efficiency by 80%.

Prior to implementing Zebra solutions, the retailer relied on paper processes - mainly manual registration of orders along with picking and shipping of goods - which led to high inventory inaccuracies and margin of errors. Multicenter needed a modern solution to accelerate its digital transformation and drive the efficiency of its front-line workers. With Zebra’s mobile computing solutions and industrial printers, the retailer has reduced human errors by 80%.

“Zebra’s solutions help our business digitalize operations at the warehouse and distribution center, transforming the everyday working life of our front line,” said Christoph Postey, Multicenter CEO. “With more than 40,000 items and 16 categories of goods, we needed to improve inventory visibility to deliver better and faster service to our customers. Zebra’s technology is allowing us to receive goods and process orders five times faster, reduce cycle counting times of inventory by 66%.”

Multicenter was supported by Hiller, Zebra’s PartnerConnect Premier Business partner in Bolivia, who helped identify the right solution for its business needs. “Hiller is pleased to work with forward-thinking customers like Multicenter, who empower workers with cutting-edge technology that enhance their productivity and level of customer service,” said Oscar Pedraza, CTO at Hiller.

In addition to deploying technology solutions in its supply chain, Multicenter has enhanced its in-store customer loyalty program by creating credit cards for its clients in only ten minutes using Zebra’s ZC300 printers. To date, Multicenter has issued 15,000 credit cards, increasing the number of shoppers by 15% and the average purchase ticket by 40%.

“By digitalizing their operations into an intelligent, connected supply chain, Zebra delivers the performance edge that enterprises require to stay competitive,” said Alejandro Prosperi, VP of Sales and General Manager of South of Latin America at Zebra Technologies. “We work daily to help companies like Multicenter maximize operational efficiencies, streamline workflows, and improve asset utilization and productivity to build a more profitable operation that helps meet rising customer expectations.”
