RAJA Modernises its Warehouse Operations with Zebra Technologies’ Mobile Solution

French subsidiary of leading European distributor digitises its inventory management processes for better customer service

PARIS, France – Oct. 20, 2022 –Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), an innovator at the front line of business with solutions and partners that deliver a performance edge, today announced that RAJA, a leading European supplies and equipment distributor for companies, has enhanced and streamlined its managed inventory visibility and tracking for its front-line workers by digitising receiving, shipping, and loading processes with Zebra’s easy-to-use warehouse mobility solution for Android™.

Headquartered in Roissy near Paris, RAJA Group includes 26 companies and 15 distribution centers across 19 countries, serving two million customers. At its Paris Nord 2 distribution site, RAJA has around 70 pickers and 30 forklift operators processing a daily average of 750 orders from 5000 lines, usually delivered to customers within 24-48 hours.

RAJA needed to migrate its fleet of mobile warehouse devices to the Android operating system (OS) as Microsoft Windows™ embedded handheld support was ending. At its three French sites, a new solution was required that was compatible with the company’s current warehouse management system (WMS) and would increase the visibility of its fulfilment processes.

The Zebra real-time warehouse mobility solution has streamlined inventory management processes for RAJA’s warehouse operators, improving overall customer service thanks to the successful collaboration between RAJA, Zebra Technologies, and its PartnerConnect Premier Solution Partner, WIIO.

“Throughout our warehouse modernisation project, the specialist knowledge, skill and consultancy expertise of our integrator and partner WIIO, has helped ensure a smooth device renewal and Android OS migration,” said Yvan Delannoy, Logistics Operations Manager, Paris Nord 2. “The Zebra solution accurately tracks our managed inventory throughout receiving, storage and distribution processes. Also, our warehouse pickers and forklift operators have found the technology easy to learn and use, which has accelerated the solution’s adoption.”

Zebra’s bespoke solution for RAJA included TC8000 touch computers, VC8300 vehicle mount computers, DS3600-ER ultra-rugged scanners and ZT400 series industrial printers.

“RAJA has empowered its warehouse operators with a reliable, efficient solution to digitise inventory workflows, resulting in better customer service,” said Stéphane Loyer, Transportation and Logistics Director, France, Zebra Technologies. “This is a great example of how front-line workers and assets at the edge are visible, connected and fully optimised for customers in today’s on-demand economy.”

According to Zebra’s recent Global Warehousing Vision Study, decision-makers expect to increasingly turn to handheld mobile and wearable computers, peripherals, mobile printers, ultra-rugged scanners, and vehicle-mounted computers to augment their workers. Eighty-three percent of decision-makers and 89% of associates agree this is the best way to introduce automation into warehouse operations. Other devices such as touch computers and industrial printers can also complement this.
