Senior Director, Internal Audit & Chief Audit Executive, Zebra
Mike Stent has more than twenty years of internal audit experience, focused primarily within the technology and the product industries. Today, he heads the Internal Audit department for Zebra Technologies, a role he has served in since 2011. As the Chief Audit Executive for Zebra, Mr. Stent is responsible for leading a team of resources to execute financial, operational, IT and compliance based audits, facilitating the company’s SOX audits and assisting with efforts to support Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). He is an active participant in several of Zebra’s committees, including the Disclosure Committee and the Compliance Committee and engaged with the company’s IT Security Committee.
In addition to his role with Internal Audit, Mr. Stent has taken a lead role in building out Zebra Finance’s Intern program. He also founded the Zebra Equality Alliance (ZEAL), the company’s Inclusion Network (or Employee Resource Group) focused on Zebra’s LGBTQ+ employees and allies.
Prior to Zebra, Mr. Stent spent 13 years in public accounting. He came to Zebra from Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he served as a Senior Manager in their Enterprise Risk Services practice, assisting clients with internal audit services, business risk consulting, Sarbanes-Oxley and enterprise risk management. In addition to his ten years of experience at Deloitte, Mr. Stent spent three years with Arthur Andersen LLP, also in an internal audit and business process risk consulting capacity.
Mr. Stent received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Industrial Distribution Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
