JBS Modernizes Brazilian Distribution Center Operations with Zebra Technologies

Mobile computers help reduce errors by 60% and increase worker productivity by 14%

SAO PAULO – Dec. 7th, 2020 - Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), an innovator at the edge of the enterprise with solutions and partners that enable businesses to gain a performance edge, today announced that JBS, the world’s largest meat processing company, selected Zebra’s TC8000 touch mobile computers to increase productivity and modernize distribution center operations in Sao Paulo.

JBS needed a solution to support new applications while migrating from its legacy Windows-based system as it reached obsolescence.  As a result, JBS switched to Zebra’s ergonomic and intuitive Android™-based TC8000 touch mobile computer. With the TC8000, JBS has streamlined inventory management, picking and shipping operations in its distribution center.

“By using Zebra’s innovative Android-powered technology in our distribution center operations, we significantly reduced time spent picking and shipping products by 40%,” said Alacir Imidio da Silva, Logistics Board, JBS. “The TC8000 also allowed us to increase worker productivity by 14%, improving our overall operational efficiency.”

With 270 delivery trucks delivering to 15,000 customers in Sao Paulo, JBS selected the TC8000 to provide real-time information to power smarter decision making, enabling an agile connected supply chain and flawlessly fulfill orders. The TC8000 includes Zebra’s Mobility DNA suite of end-user applications, application development tools and utilities that transform Android into an enterprise-ready operating system. This allows businesses to maximize the return on investment of their Zebra mobile devices by increasing worker productivity, simplifying management, strengthening security and reducing training and adoption time.

“Zebra’s intuitive mobile computers were instrumental in helping JBS improve its distribution center operations, reducing errors by 60%," said Vanderlei Ferreira, Sales Manager, Zebra Technologies Brazil.  “Zebra gives a performance edge to help those on the front lines of distribution and fulfillment centers maximize their operational efficiency to increase profitability and meet rising customer expectations.”
