Zebra Technologies to Launch New Printer Mobile App Designed for China
Zebra’s first China-specific label design and management mobile application software tailored to address the diverse needs of varying industries in China
March 29, 2021 - Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), an innovator at the front line of business with solutions and partners that deliver a performance edge, today announced the upcoming launch of its Mobile Label Designer app, which will help businesses in China design and manage their labels efficiently. The app exclusively supports Zebra’s ZR118 and ZR138 mobile printers, built specifically for the Chinese market.
Zebra conducts research across multiple industries in China to come up with solutions that cater to the diverse needs of Chinese businesses. Through this customer-oriented approach, Zebra’s Mobile Label Designer app was created specifically for China use.
Zebra’s Mobile Label Designer app enables users to create, open, delete, design, and manage labels before printing them on demand. The app comes with an intuitive, user-friendly interface and a variety of market-specific templates. For example, small retailers can use the app to print and update the pricing labels of their products.
The powerful, easy-to-use app supports the editing of text, barcode, and QR codes. It can scan codes for modeling and capture digits and text on commodities via its optical character recognition (OCR) functionality. This allows users to automatically input key information and reduce errors from manual data entry. The app offers the design overview of the labels on its home page, which includes the location, status, and battery level of the printer to which it is connected via Bluetooth. The app can also save labels locally, offer a print preview, adjust print density, and support a printer firmware upgrade.
Users can access the mobile app via their Android or iOS smartphone. This offers greater convenience because their smartphone can easily connect to the printer via Bluetooth for on-demand printing anywhere, anytime. Users can import files in Excel format for batch printing and even serialize their print jobs automatically.
Taking into consideration users’ privacy, the Mobile Label Designer app does not require its users to either register or log in before use. Users can simply provide a download link via WeChat Moments that leads to the download page of Zebra Mobile Label Designer.
The mobile app is expected to launch in the second half of 2021 and will be free for download and use.
