Zebra Technologies Partners with JD Logistics to Offer Modernized Warehouse Management Solutions

Purpose-built solutions designed to help forward-thinking retail SMBs in China achieve warehouse modernization catering to their varying business needs

Shanghai, China – 1 Dec., 2020 – Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), an innovator at the edge of the enterprise with solutions and partners that enable businesses to gain a performance edge, today announced its partnership with JD Logistics to jointly offer modernized warehouse management solutions designed to help China-based small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in the retail sector achieve greater work efficiency and cost-savings based on their varying business needs.

JD Logistics is a technology-driven company that believes in efficiency and sustainability. With a strong foundation built up over the past 10 years in terms of its infrastructure, management expertise and technology, it is committed to becoming the most trusted supply chain and logistics services provider globally.

The modernized warehouse management solutions will be a seamless pair up between JD Logistics’ Warehouse Management System (JWMS) and a diverse variety of Zebra devices including the TC25 rugged smartphone, TC51 touch computer, MC3300 mobile computer, GT800 desktop printer and DS2208 handheld imager. This flexible and scalable format allows the creation of multiple warehouse management solutions to cater to the varying needs of different SMBs, from wholesalers to retailers who may be trading in fashion, beauty products, fast-moving consumer goods, among others. They will feature remote deployment and enable reliable, efficient maintenance for remote system and hardware management. They will also ensure stable system operations and come with sustainable upgrading, which translates into a higher return of investment.

According to Zebra’s Warehousing Asia Pacific Vision Study, over half of surveyed warehouse decision-makers are planning for partial automation and augmentation by 2024. This is driven by the insatiable demands of consumers for 24/7 product search and purchase and their ‘I want it now’ mentality.

“In the post-pandemic era, consumers are expected to have even higher expectations of online shopping and fulfillment timeliness, which means greater pressure for warehousing, distribution and fulfillment operations to deliver swiftly and accurately,” said Henry Yang, Channel Director of Greater China, Zebra Technologies. “Through the mix-and-match approach, China-based SMBs in the retail sector can leverage Zebra’s product diversity to pair one or more devices up with JD Logistics’ JWMS to form their own modernized warehouse management solution based on their respective business needs.”

Through the integration of JWMS with Zebra’s devices, JD Logistics has developed an innovative approach for SMBs to meet varying consumer demands of the ‘New Retail’ era. JD Logistics’ decision to work with a dependable and reputable brand like Zebra, clearly demonstrates its ambition to further contribute to the development of the transportation and logistics industry.
